Storage tank and gas holder specialist Motherwell Bridge is embarking on a groundbreaking alliance with professional services firm PROjEN and will become the first contractor to offer a complete suite of tank storage services from concept to handover.
Formed in Lanarkshire over a century ago, Motherwell Bridge is one of the world’s foremost tank storage providers and employs over 450 full time staff in its UK workforce. The firm leads some of the most high profile tank and refinery projects across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa and the tie-up with PROjEN will allow Motherwell Bridge to offer process design, engineering and management expertise for new-build or remedial tank works without the need for separate project managers.
PROjEN is a privately-owned SME based in the north of England operating within the process industry across a number of sectors such as oil and gas, healthcare, biotechnology, food and drink, waste and water treatment, energy and manufacturing.
Specialising in project management and professional services, PROjEN’s alliance with Motherwell Bridge brings a collaborative approach which emphasises forward planning, scope definition and risk management.
The revolutionary collaboration combines Motherwell Bridge’s reputation for in-house design, refurbishment and new build on large diameter tanks with PROjEN’s project management and multi-disciplined engineering expertise to provide efficient A-Z project implementation.
As well as the quality of their work, both Motherwell Bridge and PROjEN bring impressive health and safety records to the table, with both parties recognised by the ROSPA President’s award.
Motherwell Bridge CEO Russell Ward believes the agreement between the two companies is key to Motherwell Bridge achieving its ambitious goal of increasing turnover to £100m by 2015.
He said: “This is a practical and worthwhile alliance for Motherwell Bridge. By working together with PROjEN we can each add value for our clients by offering a suite of services from one source.
“At a time when there is a skills shortage within engineering, it can be difficult to find quality suppliers who offer good value. Motherwell Bridge’s alliance with PROjEN offers bespoke services from any stage of the tank building process – including repair and maintenance – with one point of contact and accountability.
“No other contractor is offering this breadth of service and we are confident this joint approach will be the springboard to Motherwell Bridge entering a new period of prosperity.”
Martin Seabrook, MD of PROjEN, said: “This collaboration allows PROjEN to demonstrate its prowess in project management and multidiscipline design engineering in the UK process industry.
“Working alongside Motherwell Bridge, we can offer practical implementation of the recent industry standards including UKPIA gap analysis, an ALARP approach, DSEAR/ATEX, LOPA, SIL and functional safety.
“This alliance brings together the complementary skills of two highly experienced and professional companies with skills in the industrial tank storage sector providing our clients with a new, more effective working model offering clear accountabilities and a single point of contact.”
