Rubber pad presses have been produced for the aerospace industry for more than 50 years for the production of either hot or cold formed single sheet aluminium components.

Presses have ranged from 200 tonnes to 10,000 tonnes capacity to generate rubber pad surface pressures to approximately 250 bar per unit area.

Presses may be of the up stroking and down stroking types and fitted with an array of shuttle tables to enable the manual assembly of the material and tool forms which then carry the tools into the machine for the forming operation.

These machines are fitted with a computer control to control the press sequence and the applied hydraulic force.
