Double Roof Seals for Floating Roof Storage Tanks

Nayflex Seal MN30/2

Volume Maximising System

Single Seal System (A) installed in a downward position can be mounted within 2" of the product while a second seal (B) keeps water from forming in the annulus space. Thus:

1. No loss of operating volume.
2. Compliance to air quality requirements.
3. Maintenance free operation.

MATERIALS

A. 5" x 5/8" CONTINUOUS BUNA-N BASED WIPER
1. Will exceed 300,000 feet of roof travel.
2. Specially formulated to resist surface cracking induced by induced by ultra violet exposure.
3. Tensile strength – 2700 p.s.i.
4. Shore hardness: 70.

B. COMPRESSION PLATE
1. Available in galvanised or stainless steel.
2. Applies positive pressure about the seal.
3. Active centring device.

C. COMPRESSION CHANNEL

1. Galvanised steel.
2. Fabricated to individual tank requirements.

D. PLATE GASKETING
1. Closed cell neoprene material.
2. Provides "leak tight" joint between plates.
3. Special cases may warrant a flexible vapour seal for corrosion protection. The alternative is available.

E. GROUND SHUNT
1. Stainless Steel
2. Positive application to shell.
3. Grounded directly to compression plates.

ADVANTAGES

1. Installation requires no "hot work" and can be done while a tank is in service.
2. Positive compression to the shell will remove wax build-up and keep tank wall clean.
3. Keeps water out of product.
4. Virtual elimination of vaporitive losses means:
(A) No odour problems.
(B) Cost effective compliance to air quality standards.
5. Documented long term maintenance free operations.
6. Easy access for visual inspection.
7. Can be used in virtually all service conditions including 100% Aromatic service.

Nayflex Seal MN32/2

1. Will exceed 300,000 feet of roof travel.
2. Specifically formulated to provide exceptional service life.
3. Tensile strength: 2700 p.s.i.
4. Shore hardness:70.

B. COMPRESSION PLATE
1. Available in galvanised or stainless steel.
2. Applies positive pressure about the seal.
3. Active sealing device.

C. COMPRESSION CHANNEL

D. PLATE GASKETING

1. Closed cell material, inert.
2. Provides "leak tight" joint between plates.

E. GROUND SHUNT

1. Stainless steel.

2. Positive compression to the shell will:
A. Help remove wax build-up and keep tank wall clean.
B. Provide the capability to seal irregular and out-of-round tank shells.
3. Reduction of vaporitive losses means:
(A) Fewer odour problems
(B) Cost effective compliance to air quality standards.
4. Documented long term maintenance free operations.
5. Easy access for visual inspection.
6. Can be used in virtually all service conditions including 100% Aromatic service.
