Nippon
Kaiji Kyokai Approval – February 2001
Motherwell Control
Systems (MCS) has recently renewed one of its approvals for the
Marine Level Gauge to comply with Class NK’s Society’s Rules, 2000
edition and has been issued with a new approval number (See below).
They are one
of the World’s leading classification societies. ‘Nippon Kaiji Kyokai,
known as ClassNK, is an independent, not-for-profit, third party
arbiter of safety. Over its 100-year history, the Society has been
dedicated to safeguarding life and property at sea and preventing
marine pollution through the establishment of universally recognized
standards for the design, construction and maintenance of ships
and other marine structures’. (Class NK, Web Site, 2000)
The
approval certifies the gauge for use on ships carrying General Cargo,
Crude Oil, L.P.G. and Bulk Chemical Goods.
For MCS quality
is paramount, regular process evaluation takes place to maintain
and improve its very high standards.
MCS operate
a Total Quality Management System and as a result obtained the BS
EN ISO 9002, the internationally recognised quality seal of approval.
This ensures products are made and delivered exactly to the requirements
specified by its customers.
Mr. Graham Ash,

and this new approval further assures our customers of Motherwell
Control System’s dedication to it”.

international approvals. The Quality auditing authorities include:
BASEEFA (UK Health & Safety Executive); Lloyd’s Register of Shipping;
American Bureau of shipping; CSA (Canadian Standards Association).
